Day 29: cultural performance @ Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Let us welcome blah blah blah blah….. my mind was still in a daze, as this is the first time I been to a cultural exchange program/ performance.
The first time I stepped into the lecture hall, I was already awe struck, it may not be grand, however, the fact that we need to perform in front of the local students. I totally was not able to control myself.
The performance for the night was full of jokes and laughter, with cheers and even jeers. However, these are the factors that prove that it is a successful interaction. Our group; group B did on Singapore traditional games, such as Gasing, Chapteh, Five stones and Zero point. Some of the games are still commonly played nowadays by young kids. The other groups had song and dance and also puppet show.
The night ended on a high note, with lots of music and laughter.
Reflection:
After the performance we had during the evening, I able to get a feel of how warming the students are here. Although, there may be some students who are not as enthusiastic in participating in the cheering and/or other stuffs that could make the whole event better, I feel that I have enjoyed myself a lot. Memories of the fun times, we had with the local students here. Flashbacks after flashbacks, the day we first met them, it is still so fresh in my mind. “good friends made are meant to keep”. I bet many of us will miss the local students here, as they are too friendly to us. It motivates us to want to treat them equally well if given the chance to do so.
