Day 27: where are we now? On Wudang Shan of course! @ Monday, October 11, 2010

“jiayou! C’mon” motivational words and speeches were all we heard, while we are on the route up the Wudang Mountain. The steps up this mountain are not easy at all. They may look like harmless steps, which we have in our HDB flats. How about try walking thousands and thousands of these steps. Can you imagine how tiring it can be? As for me, before the starting of the climb, I was confident of climbing up and back down without much effort, I was wrong when I started the climb.

I still find it a very worthwhile hike up the mountain. Along the way, there are many things that we people who lives in the concrete jungle will not be able to see daily. Things such as, special plants and the unique shape of trees are truly pleasant to the eye.
There is a sense of accomplishment, when we reached the summit of the “Jin Ding”. By then, our legs are wobbly and we are low on energy, to make things worse, the weather up in the mountains is freezing cold. And of course we took as many pictures till our hearts content.

Reflection:
After climbing the Wudang Shan, then I am able to know what the limits of my own body are. The climb up the mountain, not only did we just do the climbing, we helped out an old man who was doing his daily delivery. We just happened to met him and everyone wanted to chip in to help him lessen his burden as much as possible by carrying his load for him.  The climb was difficult; however, we were willing to help the old man.  There were also some other climbers who thought of us to be rather ridiculous. The climb is tough to begin with furthermore, we went to carry extra load for others. We were not thinking of how hard the climb or the extra load was, we were thinking we are going to reach the summit.
