Day 5 - when we have free and easy.... we will go shopping!! @ Saturday, September 18, 2010
Place where we had our "jiao zi" and the store actually resembles a fast food resturant!?
first electric cable bus seen in Wuhan
can you see the difference? both are banks but is built in different times!
all aboard, lets take the boat and cross the river
"tang bao" not bad but wish it was more salty. haha recommend to go and try
When we have free and easy time what do we do?.... Shopping of course! After so long it is finally for a little break before, and allow us to recharge before we hit back the books and study. Today we had the privilege of being brought around by the WUST student helpers again. We need to really thank them, as they spend the whole day bringing us out despite their tight schedule. We must remember to return the favour when they come over to Singapore for their OIP too.
Reflection:
Although it is not the first time I took the public transport, but only until today did I manage to notice that the buses in Wuhan are much cleaner than those in Singapore. How ironic can that be? Singapore in the eyes of tourists is a flowery and clean country. I was shock to see a almost near sparkling clean bus. Too bad such buses cannot be brought back to Singapore, if not I will be so blessed to be able to take such buses to school every day. The buses in Singapore are fine, it just pale in comparison with those in Wuhan, China. the drivers over in Wuhan are also quite good drivers, as they are able to maneuver the huge vehicle around and between pedestrians. Another interesting fact I found out today is that, some of the locals here, when they are in a tight place and needs to walk past, they will say “xie xie” which means thank you in Chinese. This is different from what we say in Singapore. Usually we say excuse me, with a strong singlish accent.
