Day 3 - start of lesson 1 @ Thursday, September 16, 2010
Today marks the start of our learning journey. This means that we will have to say good bye to holiday mood and Hello~ to studies and projects and stuffs. However, the first lesson today was not that bad, an introduction to what our module will be – project management.
If someone were to ask me what is the difference between Singapore and Wuhan I will tell you there are no differences. Especially the weather, it is totally the same, it can be much hotter. Oh no I am going to get so hot man.
classroom in a nutshell: our class room in Wuhan other than the dimensions of the room, nothing else are the same. However, it is already sufficient for us, in fact it also has some other added features.
Canteen food:
Canteen food is a little too oily and bland for my liking
the canteen in the campus is using cashless payment, whereby we need to use a student lunch card to purchase our food instead of using money
First bubble tea I drank in Wuhan. However, I felt guilty accepting them, as I heard from my friend, some of them might have a fixed sum of cash or allowance, the drinks might eat up part of their allowance. There is some form of dilemma in this, as it is only courteous to accept gifts from others.
a street that is outside and near to WUST
the mall we went to with the student helpers...
Wal-mart, however, fate did not allow us to "meet"
Reflection:
Today we had the opportunity to get out of campus to explore. Our destination; Wal-Mart. It is just a 10 minutes ride from WUST bus stop. The bus that came was lucky not so packed; otherwise the 21 of us will not be able to make it up one bus alone. The bus is a little different from ours back in Singapore. What I mean is that we just need to pay a basic fee of 2 Yuan and we may ride the bus as long as we want, regardless of the distance. This is definitely a great different experience which I think will not be seen and/or the concept will also not be able to be implemented back in Singapore. Something I still will not be able to get use to is the fact that the food in Wuhan can be quite oily. This is a health concern as some of us may not be able to take such oily food. Other than that, I believe it will be a pleasant stay for us.
