Day 1-arrival: from Singapore-to-Wuhan @ Wednesday, September 15, 2010
From Singapore to Wuhan, it is definitely not a short plane ride. despite this it is still a pleasant journey for me as I had am able to listen to the jokes and watch a very "funny" chinese movie.
At the Wuhan airport
on the bus en route to our hostel
our hostel rooms
It was a long 12 hour flight from Singapore all the way to Wuhan, China. Although there are times which we are able to rest and get a cat nap, it still was not enough. As there were delays over at Guang Zhou Airport, thus it caused the whole group of us to reach Wuhan at a much later timing. which spells disaster for us. Most of us were worn out as we wanted to get a good nights sleep. We reached the hostel at 1am and it is a timing that is past many people's bedtime.
Reflection:
After coming to Wuhan, China, I really felt that i have taken alot of things for granted. take for instance, the traffic in China. It is not as coordinated in China as compared to Singapore. In singapore, drivers follows by the rules, waiting for the traffic lights and waiting for pedestrains to cross while at the zebra crossing. However, in China, the situation is a little different. So for some of us, it may be a cultural shock.
Everything will have to be done by ourselves, like cleaning up and getting use to the hostel, all these there will not be anyone else that will be able to do for us. No parents, no maids! Some might rejoice, as more "freedom" is being permitted. Thus this proves a good opportunity for me to learn how to be independent by staying in a home away from home.
